Network Engineer

Describe the measurable activities and the stages which they are required to be provided             

•            Leverage LLD, Connectivity Matrix and other project materials to,

o            Produce patching schedule for DC sites (we acknowledge that a subset of NW engineers will be familiar with this activity)

o            Prepare configuration of network devices as per LLD and deploy/check

o            Prepare Method and Comms plans for any work conducted under change control (post build stage)

•            Ensure clear understanding of requirements through discussion with design team, technical resources, and the customer as required.

•            Execute change control with due reference to Operational processes and controls (NMC communication, monitoring awareness etc.)

•            Work with project manager to prioritise, schedule, execute and report progress of work.

•            Support installation of network devices into racks/cabinets, install base image, connect to OoBM systems, and liaise with Field   engineers as necessary to ensure that devices are installed to NG standards. NOTE: this is expected only of NG white-listed engineers.

•            Advise field engineers as necessary around implementation of patching schedule and testing of connections etc.

•            Follow VF/NG standards for all deployment activities (e.g. structure, scope, naming…)

•            Support testing activities, triage and remediation around network configuration and performance

Additional info:

•            Good knowledge of Cisco LAN and Wireless LAN technologies, including switching and IP addressing best practice.

•            Understanding Cisco Voice Technologies

•            Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment.

•            Good interpersonal skills with effective communication.

•            CCIE or minimum CCNA.

•            Hands on experience with multiple Cisco kit.
