Azure Security Architect

Job Description

An Azure Security Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architecture within an organization’s Microsoft Azure cloud environment ensuring data protection compliance with regulations and mitigating cyber threats by leveraging Azure security services like identity and access management network security data encryption and threat detection tools. They collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices throughout the application lifecycle and actively monitor for potential security vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Architecture Design
• Develop comprehensive security architectures for Azure workloads including network segmentation identity access management IAM data encryption and threat protection strategies
• Compliance Management
• Ensure adherence to industry security standards and regulations eg HIPAA GDPR PCI DSS by designing and implementing appropriate controls within Azure
• Threat Modeling and Risk Assessment
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and design mitigation strategies for Azure environments
• Azure Security Services Expertise
• Proficiently utilize Azure security features like Azure Active Directory Azure AD Azure Security Center Azure Sentinel Azure Key Vault and Azure Firewall
• Implementation and Deployment
• Guide the implementation of security controls within Azure including configuration management access policies and security monitoring
• Collaboration with Development Teams
• Work closely with developers to incorporate security practices into the software development lifecycle SDLC and promote secure coding techniques
• Incident Response
• Assist in investigating and responding to security incidents within the Azure environment including analysis of security logs and s
• Security Policy Development
• Define and maintain security policies and standards for Azure usage within the organization
• Security Awareness Training

• Required Skills and Qualifications
• Deep understanding of Azure security features and capabilities
• Extensive experience with identity and access management IAM concepts
• Expertise in network security including firewalls VPNs and network segmentation
• Knowledge of data protection and encryption techniques
• Familiarity with security monitoring and log analysis tools
• Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams
• Relevant certifications like Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert
